It’s 2021…New Year, New Money, and new ways to make it from the comfort of your home. I’m going to share with you some major ways to make money remotely this year so that YOU can reach some of your financial goals! 

If we have learned anything from last year, it’s that  we must have options that are not limited to physical workspaces.  The good news is, we’re living in a digital era which makes it much easier to make money remotely, so here are seven great ways to do so in 2021.

• Social media management

Social media in 2021 is shaping up to be more important than ever. This is how many businesses get in front of their target audience. But maintaining a social media presence requires frequent and consistent content, regular posts, and timely and trendy updates. Many small businesses don’t have the staff dedicated full-time to manage their social media channels so they may choose to outsource the service to a social media manager. You’d be required to help make regular posts, develop brand awareness, formulate objectives that determine what needs to be achieved, and help develop a plan for how it will be accomplished. These are things that you can get paid to do from the comfort of your home! ANDDDD you can schedule your time and do it for more than one business! 

• Online Business Consulting

Businesses are moving online! Many of those who didn’t want to, have been forced to do so and have no clue how to. Where do they start? What do they need? This is where you can monetize your skills. Do you have expertise in transitioning businesses from physical to online spaces? You can assist them with that transition. Online business consulting is for individuals, companies, or organizations that want to create a more effective web presence. What will you do? You’ll help and advise the client to better understand all aspects of the online business, technologies, and any other requirements. You will give helpful insight to all aspects of internet business as well as the knowledge and tools to monitor the results and make adjustments when necessary.

• Writing

Like the cliche goes, content is king! There are so many websites, blogs and online channels that require frequent written content. I for one, have a team of writers at KRM that are trained in scriptwriting, website copywriting, speechwriting, and more. This team was assembled during COVID and they work from the comfort of their homes. You can even Publish an Ebook.  The information space is massive and people are consuming content, so if you have the advice to give, stories to tell, or lessons to share, why not put it into the pages of your own E-book? If you like writing, whatever type that may be, it’s time to turn that skill into a money-making venture.

• Graphic design

First impressions matter and creativity can kill your competition. Graphic design is more than just aesthetics.  It can be a form of communication between a business and its audience. Businesses use graphics in every stage of their marketing. You may be able to craft flyers, design letterheads, create a sales page for a new product release and the list goes on. Either way, graphic designers are in demand. And you can do it as a remote freelancer.

• Test preparation

If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed, it’s the constant need for learning. Test preparation relates to tools specific to educational courses, tutoring, educational material, or e-learning which can enhance the performance of students on tests. Offer tutoring in an area that you’re knowledgeable about. You can even create a course on skillshare or youdemi.com. If you put your course on skillshare, you get paid for every minute that your video is watched. Yup, every minute. 

• Start an online store

If you’re in the business of starting your own business, here’s one that you may like… Sell and resell. Consumerism is huge! We all have varying desires for different things. We want those nice shoes or that new phone or that gaming system. Well instead of buying all the time, you can be the one to profit! Start an online store.  It can be as simple as an Instagram page..find a cute space to take pictures  of your items and have them delivered to nearby locations. If you want to go bigger you can even sell your items on amazon. On one of my other shows, I spoke about how you can sell items on Amazon from Jamaica.  

• Start a YouTube channel

Youtube is growing faster every year and it’s one of the leading spaces where businesses are placing their ads. If you have a niche, you can start making youtube videos in that area and grow your page enough to monetize it. It may take some time to grow your subscribers but after you have, you can enable your channel for monetization, Connect your YouTube channel to an AdSense account to earn money, and get paid for your monetized videos.  But here’s an insider tip: You don’t need a ton of subscribers to start monetizing!  You don’t even need AdSense!  You can get paid to do product reviews and product placements in your videos. Target small businesses that also have smaller followings.  Look for those that are similar in size to your following. They don’t have the huge budget to afford the big influencers or expensive marketing campaigns, so many of them are happy to collaborate with smaller channels like you!

Just remember, you are your brand, market yourself and your skills.  Use platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, and ensure you have an updated CV ready and… Let’s Get this money!
