Mega residential community for St Thomas

CEO of TCF Holdings, Kevin Frith, says the first phase of the Sun Coast Beach Club Development will be completed by the end of 2024.

Speaking on Taking Stock with Kalilah Reynolds, Frith explained that Sun Coast Beach Club is a luxury residential community on the beach in the rapidly developing parish of St Thomas.

He said construction on the 396-unit community is being done in three phases. The first phase of 133 units is scheduled to be completed by December 2024.

“The Sun Coast development is on a 91-acre property, and we’re building affordable luxury. The concept behind it is to basically give homeowners the opportunity to live in a resort-style environment when they get home,” he explained.

The businessman said amenities the community will have include an urgent care medical facility, a supermarket, tennis court, restaurants, etc.

“Everything that you’ll need for your own convenience living in the community, will be there,” he said.

Frith explained that he brought the 91-acre during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, shortly after the Government announced the extension of Highway 2000 to the eastern parishes of the island.

The CEO said he saw the announcement of the highway extension as an indication that more opportunities would be opening up on that side of the island. He said that when the highway is completed, it will take approximately 30 minutes from Kingston to reach the community. The ease and accessibility but relative seclusion, Frith said, is the perfect combination for individuals who want to own a luxury home in a quiet area but still have easy access to the city.

Frith said the cost of the units ranges from US$360,000 or J$46 million for a two-bedroom townhouse to US$520,000 or J$80 million for a three-bedroom duplex.
