Search engine optimization (SEO) plays the biggest role in getting your business found on online search engines like Google.
SEO is the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high on a search engine’s list of results.
Speaking on MoneyMovesJa with Kalilah Reynolds, CEO of One Great Studio, Djuvane Browne, said that Google is by far the most popular search engine.
“People default to Google and if they can’t find it on there then they’ll go some where else,” he said.
As of 2022, Google processes more than 100,000 search queries per second.
“I usually go to google first looking for a physical location. Why? Because the map is right and I want to use the directions or I want to call them,” he explained.
He said that creating a business profile on Google is a great way to increase your chances of appearing as one of Google’s top search results.
Browne explained that Google Business Profile allows businesses to add their name, coordinates, the product or services that they offer, their phone number and any other relevant information that will help customers find the business.
He said that this is helpful because there are instances when prospective customers may not know the name of the business but they are searching Google using specific keywords.
The digital marketing CEO said that setting up and optimizing a business profile is a great way to get found on Google.
He said it is also important to have good branded content on the company’s website.
People are either looking for you by name or by the product or service that you sell. In order for your website or product to show up the words have to be there,” he said.
“So the words that people are looking for have to be on your site,” he said.
Overall, Browne said that Google can be a great tool to grow and scale a business but great detail has to be shown to optimise the business’s websites.
“That’s (Google) where your audience is and they’re looking for something and the best type of customer is the one looking for your business and for what you do,” he said.
