Plus more money means more chances to save, pay off debt, build up savings and invest. 

So here are five ideas to earn some extra cash on the side!

But the first thing you wanna do is make sure these side hustles can fit into your lifestyle and schedule. You don’t wanna take up more than you can handle. You can also choose whether you want to work virtually or in person, which narrows down your options.

Number one on our list is freelancing.

If you’re a pro in your field, you should consider freelancing on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork. 

Have hard and soft skills that you’ve been sitting on? Have a few degrees and those papers are getting dusty? Leverage your skills, experience, and knowledge to work on projects that interest you, and earn in USD! 

Explore opportunities on these platforms or tap into your professional network to find exciting freelance projects.

Speaking of using your expertise, you should also consider consultancy. 

Yup, there are literally hundreds of people who would love to pick your brain about all the knowledge you have in your specific field. You know they say experience teaches wisdom? Well, people are willing to pay you for your experience. 

You just have to establish your authority in your field. Be specific with your achievements, previous work and what you bring to the table. You’d be surprised how many people are willing to learn from you.

Next is online tutoring. 

Students are struggling and need help with their theses and final exams. Since the pandemic, remote learning has become even more popular.

You can teach English, Math, Biology, literally anything! Use the many skills that you have by signing up on tutoring platforms, or offering online tutoring in your community.

There’s also the rental business.

You can rent your car, or rent or lease your living space 

List your vehicle on car sharing marketplaces and rent it. But make sure you understand how to price your rental by researching what other people with similar vehicles are charging! 

And make extra sure to insure your car before renting it to protect yourself and your vehicle in case of any unforeseen incidents!

And you know we’ve been talking about short-term rentals a lot. Jamaica is a hub for tourists. If you have a nice well kept living space and you have renters insurance, give it a try.

Finally, you can buy and resell items. 

If you enjoy finding hot items, turning your garage sale hobby into a side hustle can be both fun and rewarding.

You can sell them through consignment, public platforms like Facebook marketplace, or even list them on Amazon and eBay. 

Just be cautious not to end up with unsellable items in your inventory.

And if you’re still not exactly sure what you can do, there are  always miscellaneous things that you can take on, like styling hair, selling handmade products, doing make-up or handyman work in your community.
